Why people choose Megan over the call-center experience

Three things you get with an independent broker that you won't get from a TV ad or a 1-800 number.

Truly independent

I'm not tied to one company. I work with every major Medicare carrier. So I work for you — not for them.

Free to you — forever

You pay $0 for my help. The insurance company pays me — the same flat amount no matter which plan you pick. So I always pick what's best for you.

Help for life

After you enroll, I don't disappear. I'm in your corner every year — claims, questions, plan switches, appeals. Year after year.

Who I help most

If any of these sounds like you, you're in the right place.

I work with all the big Medicare carriers

Because I'm independent, I can compare plans from many top companies side by side — for your ZIP code, your doctors, and your prescriptions.

Humana
UnitedHealthcare
Aetna
Cigna
Mutual of Omaha
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas

Carrier appointments vary by state and product. We do not offer every plan available in your area — please contact Medicare.gov, 1-800-MEDICARE, or your local State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) for information on all of your options.

Medicare in plain English: the 4 parts

Medicare comes in 4 pieces. Each one covers something different. Here they are, without the jargon.

A
Part A

Hospital coverage

Covers hospital stays, skilled nursing, and hospice. Free for most people who paid Medicare taxes for 10+ years.

B
Part B

Doctor visits

Covers doctor appointments and outpatient care. Standard cost is around $185/month in 2026.

C
Part C

All-in-one (Advantage)

Also called Medicare Advantage. A private plan that wraps Parts A, B, and usually D into one — often $0/month.

D
Part D

Prescription drugs

Covers your medications. In 2026, you'll never pay more than $2,100 out-of-pocket for covered drugs in a year.

What's actually new for 2026 Medicare

$2,100 cap on Part D drug costs. That's the most you'll pay all year. After you hit it, your covered drugs cost you $0.

Over 1 million people lost their Medicare Advantage plan. Humana left 3 states. UnitedHealthcare cut 109 counties. Aetna cut 100. Texas got hit hard.

Medicare started negotiating drug prices in January 2026 — Eliquis, Jardiance, Xarelto, Januvia and more.

Lost your plan? You have until Feb 28, 2026 to pick a new one. The government opened up a special sign-up window for everyone affected.

How working with me actually goes

Three simple steps. No pressure. No paperwork until you're ready.

1

You watch (or call)

Watch the free Tuesday Medicare 101 class — or skip straight to a 15-minute discovery call. Either way: $0, no obligation.

2

We compare your options

We look at the plans available in YOUR ZIP code, with YOUR doctors, covering YOUR medications. I show you the math, plain and simple.

3

You decide — at your pace

If a plan fits, I help you enroll (still free to you). If nothing fits, that's the right answer too. Most people take their time.

Megan Neri, licensed Medicare insurance agent

Hi, I'm Megan Neri

For 20+ years, I was a registered nurse. I sat bedside with people on the worst days of their lives. That's the muscle I bring to Medicare.

Three years ago I moved into Medicare full-time. I kept seeing folks turning 65 get pushed into the wrong plan by call centers — places that didn't know their meds, their doctors, or their story.

Today our family practice is licensed in 30+ states. We've helped thousands of families pick the right Medicare plan. We're based in Houston. My husband Joe runs the life insurance side — 15+ years in that world. We're independent, family-owned, and we work for you. Not for a carrier.

What I won't do: push a one-size-fits-all plan. Pick the carrier that pays me the most. Or chase you if you're not ready.

What I will do: answer every question. Explain costs in real dollars. Stay in your corner after you enroll — for life.

Common questions

Is your help really free? How do you get paid?

Really free. No invoice. No hidden fee. No credit card.

If a plan you pick has a commission, the carrier pays me a flat amount — same whether the plan costs you $0 or $200 a month. If you don't enroll, I don't get paid. Your cost doesn't change either way.

Why use a broker instead of Medicare.gov or 1-800-MEDICARE?

Medicare.gov and 1-800-MEDICARE are great for the basics — definitions, dates, what's covered. They're 100% unbiased and free.

What they can't do is sit with you, look at your meds, your doctors, your ZIP code, and tell you which plan actually fits. That's what an independent broker does. And once you enroll, they hand you off to the carrier — I stay in your corner for life.

Want a third option that's also free and unbiased? Look up your local SHIP counselor (State Health Insurance Assistance Program). We list them in every disclosure for a reason.

I'm not in Texas. Can you still help?

Texas is the heart of my practice. I'm also licensed in multiple other states for clients who've moved or have family across state lines.

If you're in a state I'm not licensed in, I'll tell you on our first call and point you to a SHIP counselor or a trusted broker in your area for free, unbiased help.

I don't enroll for months — is it worth talking now?

Yes. Most of my clients spend months — sometimes a full year — researching before they enroll. I'd rather you take the time to understand the choice than rush.

The class and the discovery call are both free. Bring questions whenever you have them. I'm not going to pressure you into anything.

What's the difference between Medicare Advantage and Medigap?

Short version. Medicare Advantage replaces Original Medicare with one private plan. It wraps Parts A, B, and usually D into one card — often with $0 monthly cost. The trade-off: you stick to their doctor network, and some treatments need approval first.

Medigap keeps Original Medicare and adds a private plan that fills the cost gaps. Higher monthly cost. But no network — any doctor who takes Medicare takes you.

Which one is right depends on your health, your doctors, your meds, and your budget. We walk through it in plain English in the Tuesday class.

Will I get spam calls if I give you my info?

No. We don't sell or share your info. Period.

The "free Medicare advice" call-center spam comes from lead aggregators — they sell your info to dozens of agents at once. I'm not one of those. When you contact me, you're contacting a single broker (me).

Two easy ways to start. Both free.

Pick the one that fits where you are right now.
